The programme-wide participant count is not the combined sample size of these four papers. Study cohorts may overlap; do not add them together or assume independent validation.

Introducing a Novel Personalized Microbiome-Based Treatment for Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Results from NostraBiome’s Internal Validation Study

Read full study

DOI: 10.3390/biomedicines13040795

Population & design
Patients with inflammatory bowel disease; internal validation study.
What was studied
Personalised microbiome modulation informed by microbiome and clinical data, evaluated for symptom control and remission-related outcomes.
Reported findings & interpretation
The source describes improvements in symptoms and remission-related measures. Endpoint definitions and the analysis should be reviewed in the full publication.

Personalized Microbiome Modulation to Improve Clinical Outcomes in Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease

A Multi-Omics and Interventional Approach

Read full study

DOI: 10.3390/microorganisms13051047

Population & design
Children with inflammatory bowel disease.
What was studied
Multi-omic analysis combining metagenomics, metabolomics, transcriptomics and clinical biomarkers to inform microbiome-targeted interventions.
Reported findings & interpretation
The study examines dysbiosis, intervention targets and clinical response in paediatric IBD. Its findings should not be generalised to all childhood digestive conditions.

AI-Guided Multi-Omic Microbiome Modulation Improves Clinical and Inflammatory Outcomes in Refractory IBD

A Real-World Study

Read full study

DOI: 10.3390/ijms27010201

Population & design
358 adults with treatment-refractory IBD · three-month programme, as summarised by NostraBiome.
What was studied
Stool metagenomics, blood biomarkers, micronutrient panels and clinical information informed individualised dietary and microbiome-modulation plans.
Reported findings & interpretation
NostraBiome reports over 70% describing their overall condition as ‘much improved’ at three months, and reductions in hs-CRP and faecal calprotectin in over 85% of cases. This is the proportion showing reductions, not an 85% reduction in marker levels.

AI-Guided Personalized Gut Microbiome Modulation for Persistent Secondary Gastrointestinal Symptoms in Oncology Patients

Clinical Efficacy and Biological Correlates from a Prospective Validation Study

Read full study

DOI: 10.3390/cancers18091453

Population & design
Oncology patients with persistent secondary gastrointestinal symptoms; prospective validation study.
What was studied
Microbiome, clinical and laboratory data informed personalised dietary and supplement recommendations, evaluated over three months.
Reported findings & interpretation
The source describes improved bowel habits and energy, alongside changes in beneficial gut bacteria and metabolic markers. This is supportive-care research, not evidence of treating cancer or improving survival.

Evidence in context

What these studies can — and cannot — tell us.

Real-world and internal validation results can identify promising clinical signals. Without a suitable randomised comparator, changes cannot be attributed to the intervention alone: concurrent therapy, selection, reporting and other confounders matter.

The interventions combine several elements. Outcomes do not isolate the effect of AI, a supplement or an individual app feature. Findings in a defined IBD or oncology cohort do not establish efficacy in menopause, aging or every metabolic condition.

Medical-device status is separate from clinical evidence.

NostraBiome describes its software as CE-marked under EU MDR 2017/745, with ISO 13485 quality management and EUDAMED registration. CE marking is a conformity status; it is not a guarantee of clinical benefit for every use. Diagnosis and treatment decisions remain with the treating clinician.
